Chartwell Agency has been the public relations agency of record for Monmouth College, a private, liberal arts college with 1,100 students, since 2013. Initially, Monmouth officials engaged our firm to develop and implement a regional and national awareness plan to secure greater visibility for the College and gain public awareness for its $40 million Center for Science & Business.
To promote Monmouth College’s $40 million Center for Science and Business, Chartwell created and implemented a comprehensive visibility campaign to build awareness. Chartwell developed and pitched relevant and timely story ideas about the college and secured interview opportunities for college administrators with regional media outlets. As part of an ongoing relationship, Chartwell Agency identifies regional and national media to utilize in the efforts to increase Monmouth College’s visibility among its key audiences, which include prospective students, high school guidance counselors, elected officials and community leaders. Chartwell proactively develops and pitches stories that highlight the College’s differentiators and expertise in the higher education market. Chartwell also monitors media trends for relevant newsworthy higher education topics and issues and promotes spokespeople from the College as expert sources on a variety of topics.
With no previous relationships in the central Illinois media market, Chartwell Agency doubled Monmouth College’s visibility with regional broadcast and print media outlets within the first month and continues that traction to further the college’s goals of increased visibility and awareness among target audiences.
Despite the fact that Monmouth College is located outside the surrounding larger local media markets, which contain competing college and universities, Chartwell Agency leveraged its expertise developing relationships with media outlets and reporters to secure stories about Monmouth College’s growth and success and placed administrators, faculty, and staff as experts in regional and national stories.
