Karli Smith has 15 years of experience in marketing and communications with an expertise in managing and building relationships. As a Vice President at Chartwell Agency, she is responsible for assisting clients with strategic planning, media relations at a local, regional and national level, social media strategy and execution, and event planning and implementation as well as staff management responsibility. She works with a variety of clients ranging in industries from healthcare to not-for-profits.
Smith’s previous professional experience includes several roles at the Illinois Division of the American Cancer Society including Manager of Special Events. In this role, Smith developed income growth strategies, marketing plans, best practices for mass market fundraising events, and regularly communicated and developed relationships with relevant media outlets.
She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a B.A. in Corporate Communication in 2002. She volunteers as a mentor for KFACT (Keeping Families and Communities Together), a youth development and mentoring organization established to alleviate opportunity gaps among the young ladies attending Rockford Public Schools. She is also a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity helping the organization to build marketing strategies to recruit volunteers. Smith is also a member of Next Rockford. She is active in her community and volunteers at her daughter and son’s school.
